He has said more about the improvements over the Mk.ii than I've read elsewhere. There are apparently quite a few 'under the hood' refinements that might make upgrading more worthwhile than I had previously thought - not that I have immediate plans, as I don't feel I'm stretching the Mk.ii yet.
It is quite an entertaining post, but I do wonder a bit about his comments on image stabilisation. One of his examples is shot at 1/3200 sec and another at 1/8000. Even the third is at 1/1250 and I really wonder how much impact the IS will have at those speeds.

            02/12/2020 Firmware update 1.2

Possible to use focus stacking photography with M.Zuikio Digital ED 12-45mm F4 PRO.

When EVF Auto Switch is set, you can select how the viewfinder is displayed when the monitor is open.

Off: Disables the eye sensor. Press the display button to switch between the EVF display and the monitor display.

On1: Eye sensor operates regardless of whether the rear monitor is open or closed. Press the display button to switch between the rear-panel monitor Live View display/Super Control Panel display.

On2: The eye sensor does not operate while the rear-panel monitor is open. Press the display button to switch between the rear-panel monitor Live View display/Super Control Panel display.
Thankfully, this has also been brought to the E-M1 II as well (FW 3.2).

Question for those who placed an order for the EM1-MK3. Have you been given any idea of ship date?

I picked up an Oly leaflet at LCE Chichester this morning, while fondling the MKiii, which said that shipping would start in the first week of March. What was really noticeable with the Mkiii was how my tremor induced shake while trying out the 300mm lens was illiminated very noticeably

Could it be that 'Half Way Release With IS' was not enabled? That stabilizes the image in the viewfinder when the shutter button is pressed halfway. It makes quite a difference.

I was told by Park the end of the month, but I must say I took that with a large pinch of salt. I expect it when i see it

An in depth review video by Chris Eyre-Walker worth a watch. If you don’t want to watch the whole thing scroll to the last sections where he compares Mk3 vs Mk2 etc. I’m quite tempted to upgrade to the Mk3 now, there do seem to be some nice new features and upgrades. Got to give my Mk2 some love on an upcoming trip to WWT Slimbridge though!

Illustrates perfectly why taking the time to learn Olympus cameras pays such dividends. It also explains why most reviewers and amateurs on full frame forums don’t bother to do this, and so never get beyond the size of the sensor and (mostly irrelevant IMHO) noise at 100% on screen.
I am not sure if his second Costa Rica report is in the above link but it has some stunning shots of hummingbirds along with his usual excellent commentary. I was interested to see that in the things he loves about the camera he has a comment that it has a new rubber body coating which promises much less peeling than the Mk II. That is good if it is true.

One of the major benefits of using IS at all shutter speeds is the calming effect it has on the viewfinder image and target tracking with longer lenses: handholding the 300/MC-14 or -20 is often impossible without it as far as I’m concerned.

Sure, I completely agree - but is 7 stops vs 6 (or whatever it is) really going to make much difference?

True: that improvement for the mkiii would surely only be seen at slow shutter speeds.
I’ve got reliably sharp wildlife images with the 300 +/- the MC-14 at shutter speeds around 1/40th as long as the subject isn’t moving much (and others have claimed 1-2 stops slower) so presumably this is just extended.
We’ll have to repeat the forum’s slow shutter speed competition with the 12-100 and the M1iii.
