Hi Paul, I think you probably already know that the white reflects heat better than black and this is a positive feature in a wildlife lens in worldwide...

As a long term regular user of The Big White 150-400mm, I don't agree that the white 50-200mm is overpriced ~ It has mostly the same excellent features....
