  • Fishing - a shot with my "new" 50-200

Busy weekend, but managed to get this shot down by Draycote Water. Really pleased with this lens so far.

Man vs Bird. That's really nicely composed.
    Thanks

Well composed and timed, and I love the muted colour palette.

(Not so sure about the vignette, but that's just a matter of taste)

My sort of muted colours too Paul. I like it very much.

Lovely muted colours give it a great atmosphere; add in the superb composition and its a great shot.

Me. I don't have the 50-200. Also the 40-150 is going to focus a lot faster on the E-M5 than the 50-200.

I must say, that new 40-150 looks really nice and I like the non-extending zoom design. However, at £1400 with the TC, it's 4 times the price of what I paid for the 40-500 (older, non-SWD) including the adapter.

Also, the older lens still has it beat in the aperture department - the new lens (with the TC) is a 70-210 f4 as opposed to the older lens which is a 50-200 f2.8-f3.5. Not a big difference at the long end I grant you, but almost a stop faster at the shorter end.

That's a great shot, and the grebes set it off perfectly. It looks like the angler's about to cast right over them - wonder what sort of fight they'd put up?

Ah, that's what they are. I thought they were ducks! (You can see why I don't do birding).
