Never mind Mark. You Mexicans (south of the border) can't help for where you are although you came from that often forgotten little island down south we won't hold that against you & them banana benders (up north) have had it really tough this year (the price of bananas are going to go up with all those crops wiped out).
It doesn't matter, we help our Aussie mates out no matter where they are.
Origins of the Species edited out all references to it for fear that it might lead to an even more controversial theory of evolution that would eventually become known as, Unintelligent Design.
We spent a month over in Oz in 2001 but barely 'scratched the surface'. What an amazingly diverse country. We were over for a cousin's wedding held in the Tantanoola Caves at Mount Gambier. Doubt if we will ever attend such a spectacular wedding venue again.
We drove from Adelaide to Mount Gambier and then on to Melbourne all along the coast. Visited Melbourne, Sydney, Uluru and spent a week at one of the north Cairns beaches (Palm Cove). So much left to do - would love to head west to the Perth area and up to Darwin.
Regards,
Ann1e
Annie - I would love to have been your cousin's wedding photographer at such an interesting venue!
You certainly covered a lot of ground on your tour Downunder. Hopefully you will be able to visit us again and explore more of Australia.
According to my rellies in Adelaide, you can never have too many crows supporters!
Regards,
Ann1e
Oh Annie - Ain't that the TRUTH! And it is nearly Footy Season again here & I am a one-eyed Crow Supporter and can't wait!
Take no notice of Pan - he may know a lot about photography, but nothing about football.
Lyn, I didn't overlook your lovely photos. I'm just too quick at giving cheek to my elders.
It brings back memories from when we were there. I'm trying to think where we went in SA years ago when we spent a week on an Aboriginal Mission Station. I know we went into Adelaide afterwards & came home via the coast road so we must have driven through Hahndorf (about 35 years ago). It is similar to Richmond in NSW where the first bit of road going to Windsor is planted just like that (the home of my wifes ancester brought here unwillingly but became a teacher in the area & is also an ancester to Elle McPhearson) & the buildings are similar too.
Thanks for showing.
Hi Ross. I am wondering if the Mission you refer to was "Santa Teresa" in the NT near Alice Springs?
I have just captured my first dragon-fly which Pandora is trying to suggest was dead. You see what we Aussies have to put up with?
Annie - You certainly saw some beautiful parts of our country and as you say, there is plenty more to see!
I think I may have the "God Bless Australia" slide show you refer to, and if so, will send it to our Victorian friend as all Victorians need a little help with their education!

No it wasn't that mission. It had become controlled by the Aboriginal community & the elders had to approve us coming being recommended by the local pastor or chaplain (I'm not sure what official title he had there). I think it was Gerard Mission Station as we had come through Hay & Mildura to get there. I think I have some slides of the occasion but will take some time to find them & sort them. I remember the kids jumping into the river there & the grass having these enormous thorned seeds that stuck in their feet.
Ah well, it's all (faded) memories now.
