They very well may do, devilishly cunning these oriental types
I don't know about them mating in your bag though, sounds a bit odd to me

I'm always hopeful I'll open it up and find a new little lens!

Thanks for that Peter. I have taken portrait orientation shots before and uploaded them without this happening. I even rotated the original portrait shot to landscape in Picasa 3 but when it's uploaded to the site the picture still in landscape. Is this something new in firmware v4.0 or am I missing something?

Rather a long 5-7 days between 24th March and 2nd July. However true to their word Wex rang me to say the stock had arrived and was I still interested. Yes I was, and its just arrived in the post.

                          Re: 40-150mm Pro Decoration Ring

I've just bought a mint condition, boxed Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 from Ffordes, and when I unpacked it (even the lens pouch was in its sealed plastic bag!) I was surprised to find a decoration ring in the box with it. But it wasn't mentioned in the rather basic instruction manual or the Olympus website, and I couldn't work out how or where it fitted.

After studying it carefully I realised it was a DR-79 not the DR-66. That fits on the Olympus 300mm lens when you remove its tripod mount so was rather big for my lens!

I've sent it back to Ffordes as I think it should have been in the box with the used Olympus 300mm lens they were selling last week. Hopefully, they got them mixed up and the buyer of the Olympus 300mm has found a DR-66 with his lens. They're investigating for me, so hopefully I won't have to buy one from WEX

Unfortunately; but I would have thought a Pro lens would have come complete with this part. But with some lenses being supplied without a lens hood maybe this is the way things are going. The strange thing I find is that Olympus do not seem to stock the item! Their agents usually have to order them in and I wonder who they get them from and why a plastic ring is so expensive. Maybe a job for members with a 3D printer?
