40-150mm Pro Decoration Ring

Hello.
Just seen that WEX are doing the Olympus DR-66 decoration ring for the 40-150mm Pro lens at a decent price. It's simply a plastic ring that protects the tripod mount locating lugs on the lens if you choose to remove the mount. I bought mine from Amazon.com because European suppliers were charging ridiculous prices at the time.

It locates securely onto the lugs and looks really neat.

Very rarely remove the foot as it is how I attach my Sunsniper strap. Can't see me ever wanting one of these, which until a few minutes ago i had never heard of.

I use these "Support the whatever" plastic wrist bands for all sorts of things. I'll have to see if they fit...

Decorate your 40-150 Pro with a couple of these in grey and it will start to resemble a C***n lens

Probably protects the lugs but things are no different to the 50-200, which is of the same design. Don't remember such a thing for this lens.
A solution waiting for a problem if you ask me!

Dave is your suggestion to help stop theft as who would want to steal a C***N ( whatever they are) if people know it is an Olympus you could be a target?

Despite some cutting comments, here's a picture of the DR-66.
It's a lot nicer than a rubber band or two! It looks nothing like a C-word lens or an N-word for that matter! I think it makes the lens look less like it's being used with something missing
I do think though that the ring should be supplied with the lens, it is a genuine Olympus accessory after all and it is way over priced.
I'm happy though, because I paid less than half Wex's price for mine.
Why the picture has uploaded in panoramic mode I don't know, it was definitely taken in portrait. I'm sure someone will set me straight.

Interesting! Do they do the opposite to protect the inners of the mount? That way they can mate up like the teleconverter caps in my bag to keep the dust out!
