Most lenses with mechanical focusing reach infinity before the end-stop - it's quite normal. Unless yours is excessive of course?

I don't think I've ever looked at the distance scale on my SWD lenses, I focus them through the viewfinder like all my manual focus primes.
As for the 12-60, it's one of those lenses I'll keep until it's either no longer repairable or there's no longer a body to use it on.

I am rather fond of the lens but it's so big and slow on the E-M1!! If I was still using my 510, I would have definitely repaired it but the more I think about it, the more I wonder that the money would be better invested into the (rumored) 12-40 f2.8.
