  • Hi All

I always wonder how to introduce myself without sounding like I'm attending an AA meeting for the first time ๐Ÿ˜Š so, my name is Tim and I'm a photography junkie, I live on Dartmoor with my three Springer Spaniels and my lovely wife Lauren, she bites, the dogs don't ๐Ÿ˜‰

I've dabbled with photography for over 50 years now, started at school, had several breaks away from it but always return. I have never settled on one system or format and have tried lots of systems, some more than once. I'm currently shooting with a Fuji X-H1 but I here because I've just bought a EM1 mk111 with a 12-40 2.8 pro lens.

Although I'm passed retirement age I still work in construction, not because I have to but because I actually enjoy my work, I need a reason to get up in the morning and works provides it, it also enables me to spend money on my hobbies, of which, photography is the most demanding, I love new toys ๐Ÿ˜Š

Anyway, I'm not sure if I will be able to contribute much but I'm here to learn.

The forum may be a bit of a learning curve for you - I'm sure you will get lots of help here of you need it.

Hi Tim, welcome here. I am a bit like you, a photo junkie that's passed the usual retirement age (only just) and still working because I love my job, it also pays for nice photo gear

We have family on the east side of Dartmoor and we've been invited to stay with them later this year. My plan is looking for dippers on the Teign, so we will be heading your way towards Spring and Summer.

Looking forward to seeing your photos and we are all here to help and support. Happy shooting

Thankyou all for the very warm welcome, I'll do my best to provide you with some decent images but I need to learn my new gear first. The last time I used an Olympus camera it was the Om2 back in the seventies, I'm sure they have moved on a bit since then ๐Ÿ˜‰ the menu system looks a bit daunting, but I'm sure I'll get there.
