It'll be very low down in the southern sky in the UK. At present, I've got low cloud and houses blocking any view of it

    Hope you have better luck!

Having a go. Warm night, so lots of heat shimmer making it hard to get critical focus. Full moon never shows great detail, even eclipsed.

      300mm F4 with MC-14. A bit of processing and cropping in C1Pro.

Thanks Chris, I've put a fuzzy image in the gallery, shot between the obstructions, it was quite an impressive sight!

I buggered all mine. Forgot I set that LCD automatic brightness to ON. So all shots taken this morning are severely underexposed.

Here's one I got with the 40-150 plus MC-20. Cropped quite a lot so not quite the resolution you guys got but not bad I thought for hand held and not stacked. Must have a go at that stacking one day. Oh yes and I did notice it was only 1/10s shutter speed too so looks like the IS saved me.

                Re: Partial lunar eclipse...

At 10:35 I suddenly remembered; dashed out into the garden - couldn't see the moon (quite low so obscured my neighbour's house and our huge weeping willow tree depending on where you stand).

I could see the moon from upstairs but only through the top pane of the back bedroom window. It opens but the angle meant it was very difficult to view through a lens. After much faffing around it was about 10:45 and the spectacle was over. I took a few miserable hand held shots (ZD300 +EC-20) but they were not worth showing. To be honest there was some haze in the sky anyway.

                Frustrating!

                      Good one Mark!

Here's my attempt, a one second exposure with my E-M1 plus 12-60 in one hand and my cat in the other; he'd followed me a quarter mile down the road and I caught him as I didn't want him running off any further! Then he wriggled free and away into a field and it took me a good ten minutes to catch him and take him home, silly beast. I don't know which of us is dafter sometimes .

I think the E-M1's IBIS did pretty well in the circumstances to produce a reasonably sharp result. The lens was at 60mm and wide open, ISO1600 and tweaked a bit in DxO Photolab to reduce the highlight brightness a bit.

Unfortunately evening meal was served from 10.15-11pm, so I missed most of it.
I did manage to get the tripod out and get one shot in before it immediately clouded over until the eclipse ended.

How did you manage to get the sky in that sort of glow I have tried metering the sky and I can never get it right.

                              By fluke of course.

New camera body with no chance to get it set up properly for this particular job.
It actually came out a bit underexposed; I was using centre weighted metering and single point autofocus (Large)
I brightened slightly in DxO until it looked about right, though a bit noisy now

                              E-M1 Mk2 300mm-F4 @F6.3 200-ISO 1/2s

The camera was set up with an MC-20 on it, but obviously too long, so I took it off and tried one trial exposure/AF, then the clouds came in completely, and remained for the next 45 minutes or so.
