Thanks to everyone who commented on the images posted in the Rannoch Moor and More thread over in Foto Fair.
I think Steve's Loch Ba shots were much better than mine and this is partly down to composition. I struggled to pick a simple composition from the boulder strewn foreground with reeds, mist and layered background so I have had a fiddle with a couple of crops and thought I would open them up for feedback here.
Cropping isn't the long-term solution I know (unless I get a D800) and I realise I should try harder to get it right 'in camera'; maybe it was the hour of the day or age(!), but I have loads of shots where moving a couple of feet would have made quite a difference e.g. the sun's reflection wouldn't have been partially obscured by a rock.
Any advice on how to think more clearly while behind the camera would be gratefully appreciated, but in the meantime what do you think of these crops?
