A few more from my trip to the Outer Hebrides....

Barra Airport, which has got to rank as one of the prettiest and interesting settings of any airport

We came back via Isle of Skye and this is the view from near the Storr looking across the Sound of Raasay

I’d recommend anyone heading for the southern end of the Outer Hebrides took the Loganair Twin Otter from Glasgow airport and landed on Barra airport (ie actually on Traigh Mhòr beach).
I think it’s still the only scheduled air service in the World whose timings are governed by the tides.
It’s not going to run forever since shell fishing and sand extraction is affecting the beach, as is sea level rise.
It’s a fun flight over the western coasts and islands, and the landing is exhilarating - very smooth, in my case. Put it on the bucket list.
