I was with a friend whom was sitting down next to a fence and the larger weasel approached him, inside arms length, a couple of times in the midst of also bounding about.
this took place far in a rural area, as opposed to an urban park, and there is no chance these weasels are habituated to humans.
I guess they just quickly figured we weren’t any danger to them.

I see that you are based in Canada, in which case, it could be what is known as a long tailed weasel.

Not knowing what it was, the first time I saw a stoat (winter coat), I looked it up and learned it was a Stoat.
when I talked about it, and saw other Stoats since, while with other folks, I ‘learned’ most (all) just call everything a Weasel (long tail or short tail) here...which is odd because there are a number of geographic areas (in my neck of the woods), creeks, communities (Ermineskin), etc., named after the Ermine but nobody uses the name Ermine to ID the animals...they are always simply called short or long tail weasel.
