No super moon, but sunset was wild

So I had a plan for the super moon. Lots of planning and scouting, and I found a location where the moon should rise directly over the breakwater light in the upper harbor just before sunset. Weather has skunked me out 2x (and tonight isn't looking good either). The first night, it was just blah and no moon. Last night was WOW (but still no moon). A front rolled in just at sunset and the colours and clouds were off the charts.

The moon should have come up directly behind this light. Notice the dark wall of clouds.....

The storm got darker behind that cloud and we made for the car. It started raining just as we opened the doors.

Very nice Celeste, you got some dramatic looking shots with that sky despite the lack of Moon visibility!

It was the same deal here in the UK with the Moon
