Lovely action sequence. Another "across the pond" difference (following Common Merganser/Goosander!) - in the UK Horned Grebe are known as Slavonian Grebe (and Eared Grebe would be Black-necked Grebe). There are several others that come to mind (Divers/Loons & Skuas/Jaegers & Guillemots/Murres etc) although I haven't heard Long-tailed Duck called Oldsquaw on any of my recent trips to Canada so maybe that has "died out" or perhaps the old name is not considered politically correct these days?!Last edited by antpitta; 30 minutes ago.
