First try photographing the northern lights. This was in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada.
What you don't see are the polar bear guards. Men and women with rifles and bangers looking for polar bears in the dark while we looked at this amazing display.

These are much more like the traditional northern lights - love the ribbon effect. I looked it up and you were well North, although not as far North as the Arctic Circle.
