I took this photo of a fly sitting on a fern with my E520 & EX25/ZD70-300 lens manually focused to maximum, flash up & moved in until focused & got this shot. It's not the sharpest macro setup, but the working distance is still 2 feet away, which is great for any skittish creature. The EX25 was a new addition to the kit then.
Anybody else use this combo?

Thanks. Focusing can be a bit hit & miss with my above combo/ method when the depth of field is only a couple of mm deep. I will sometimes use a monopod when chasing bugs to try & get a little steadier. It's a bit sad, as you get older, the camera shakes & the eyesight is not as good as it used to be. Ah, what the heck. It's all fun anyhow!
