Usually I refrain from commenting on B/W photographs as, in my opinion, life happens in colour. But in this case, B/W appears to be strangely apt. It darkens the mood.

A sad part of life, everywhere, but in our city it is really a shame more isn't done to house these people as has been done in other places, to great success. Something was on TV recently about how ensuring all street people were given accommodation & helped where it became possible for them to get a fresh start in life again.

Your captures stir the soul,
Excellent work though it be depressing.
As I passed by on another walk to the station, there were two women (forty-ish) huddled together, flanked on either side (socially distanced) by a lone old man.
That was the saddest homeless situation I saw on the trip, and I simply could not bring myself to capture it. I was not about to rob them of whatever dignity they may have had left.
Excellent images Mark. Not sure I'd have been brave enough to take them. You've started your Sydney series off really well.
Thanks Phill, not so much a matter of courage as using a long lens and appearing invisible (oxymoronic). Street photography isn't taboo in Oz (yet). Is it in the UK?
