It has been a long and busy day. I was up at 5AM for an important shoot at Nadia's stud farm where a young Welsh Cob filly was being sent to Queensland.
I would have much preferred that she did the shoot herself but as it had to be done at 7:00AM in very low light, she felt that it was a job for dad who almost blew it!
A sad day for grandaughter, Jacqueline, as thoroughbred Welsh Cob filly, "Anu", has been sold to a Queensland buyer.

Jackie leads Anu down the driveway to the waiting horse transport

For the 8 months since "Anu" was born, Jacqueline has played a large part in nurturing her. Sadly it's now time to say farewell to my pretty little girl, "farewell"

Jackie leads "Anu" to the waiting transport …

... and up the ramp …

... where the transport driver ensures that she is tenderly tethered 'with her seat belt fastened', comfortable for her 3 day, 3,000km journey north ...

… to a new home and the lush green pastures of sunny Queensland!
Farewell, "Anu", We wish you well!

… she will be sorely missed, not least of all by "Honey", her mum who galloped down the long driveway to the gate, looking for her filly ...

… but alas, too late
"Honey" returns to the yard, whinnying as she looks forlornly into the empty back paddock.
