Great photo Mark. Only one remark; if you had used 1/200 sec instead of 1/1250 sec at f/8 your photo would still be sharp but the tilt rotors would have a nice blur to it. This would make the photo more dynamic

You are right, but alas it was a grab shot. Never seen one fly over Hendy before for certain. The camera is set for BIF and wildlife, bit like this bird,,,:-))

Great capture. They are a very unusual bird and for me quite elusive. Yes rotors could have abit more blur, but you take these chances when they happen.

Wow, why are there so many types of American jets/fighters/bombers?

Surveyed the runways at RAF Leeming many years ago....

Is it a Lightning II from 1sqn? If I remember correctly No 1sqn has a lightningbolt in it's emblem.

It is 617 Squadron they have lightning bolts as part of their crest. The squadron crest has 3 bolts in the centre of a broken dam.

Lincolnshire Lancaster Association Members Day BBMF RAF Coningsby.

Saturday 25th September the annual Lincolnshire Lancaster Association members day was held at BBMF(Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) RAF Coningsby. LLA are long time supporters of the BBMF and as a thank you a members day is held at the end of the display season.
It is a chance to get a bit closers to the aircraft and see and meet some of the pilots.
This year also marked change of OC as the current OC Squadron Leader Mark 'Disco' Discombe leaves at the end of his time in charge.
It was a warm dry day but the sky was very overcast and dull. You are also shooting towards the sun all the time.

As usual they flew all servicable aircraft which was Lancaster, Dakota, four Spitfires and a Hurricane. A formation was flown with all seven aircraft.

On a campsite recently at Lossimouth. 2 miles from the runway.

                    A couple of flybys

An A-400 Atlas practicing approaches (day and night)

Protector, a pre-prodution Drone up to show off on 'Joint Warrior'. Very quiet (which it is supposed to be).
Dont' know why its uploaded photos this way, must be some glitch.

Praise be for Oly weather sealing! Really needed it at Cotswold Airport yesterday when I attended a Timeline Event showcasing The Buccaneer Aviation Group (TBAG) displaying two Buccaneers and two Canberra aircraft. It rained pretty well non stop but the EM1X and 12-100 Pro were up to the job. As usual at these events, I appeared to be the only Oly user there. I did use on many shots the art filter `dramatic tone 1` which seemed to suit the mood. Tim
