I'm working on decrypting that enigmatic Welsh comment Mark ...
A flight in the trainer was on the menu at $500 per 15 minutes. Sadly my pockets weren't deep enough.
Yes Ian, a selfie shot with the M1mkii + 8mm fish at 8000 ft over Mount Kosciuszko, 150km from Wangaratta as the crow flies.
This was one occasion when being a little guy paid off - more room in a coffin than the cockpit. The background haze is bushfire smoke.
This is a composite I produced for an AV sequence. The Lancaster is on display at the RAF Museum in Hendon, one of my skies and I think the pilot was an image I took of a mannequin on display at the museum in Tangmere. I called the image 'Steady Skipper'

Nice pictures. Let's see how far I come identifying them.
Lysander, P-51D Mustang, Extra 300, Curtiss Jenny, Black Cats, P-47 Thunderbolt, Comet, PBY Catalina, B-17G Memphis Belle/Sally B, Bleriot,
Westland Lysander (Shuttleworth Collection)
P51-D Mustangs (Duxford display)
Extra 500 (Duxford display)
Hawker Tomtit (Shuttleworth Collection)
Bristol Boxkite (Replica - made for the film "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines) (Shuttleworth Collection)
Avro Tutor (Shuttleworth Collection)
DH88 Comet and Percival Mew Gull (Shuttleworth Collection)
Agustus Westland AW101 from HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier (out off the coast in Devon)
P47 D Thunderbolt (Duxford display)
DH Comet (Duxford display)
PYB Catalina (Duxford display)
Shneider SF38 (plank with wings - it's not really a glider is it?) (Shuttleworth Collection)
Sally B three times (if you include the ariel view of Duxford) (Duxford display)
Duxford from above - note the gap in the hangers from where they blew one up for the film "Battle of Britain" A little off to the far left corner is where they built the mock Chateau for the film as well!
Bleriot X1 (I had to check to see if it was their Deperdussin) 1909 and still flying! That was as high as it got! (Shuttleworth Collection)
1. Dassault Rafale
2. CH-47D Chinook
3. 7 DH Tiger moths,one in the center I can't tell
4. Farner Werke 1943 F+W C-3605 Schlepp
5. Fairey Swordfish Mk.II
6. Hawker seafury
7. North American T-6 Texan (in RAF service called "harvard")
The one in the centre is an early Tiger Moth, as designed for civilian use, the military versions required the "bent" upper wing to ensure the pilots and instructors could escape and parachute in an emergency, this modification then carried over to the civilian model too...
And... Three from the Tornado flypast - from their "coming out of service flyby"
One of the shortest STOL takeoffs I've seen, less than 30m, only beaten by a visiting Storch some years ago, that managed to get airborne from the head wind, with virtually no forward movement!
Quiet morning here so thought to post a few of the wonderful Avro Vulcan back in the day at Abingdon on 2011. Hope the airshows escape the virus this year! Tim
I twice saw a full load of bombs dropped by one of those. The first was on Salisbury Plain in 1962 and the second the South China Sea in 1965. For a moment as the bombs left it looked as if the plane was breaking up.
