  • Caterpillar Identification

Hi folks, I know there's lots of bird experts on here, but are any of you into caterpillars?
Not the best photo I know, but spotted this wee beastie at North Cave Wetlands Reserve this afternoon. About 100-120mm long and about as fat as my finger, certainly well over 10mm. (I've got large hands!)

    Best Regards

    Re: Caterpillar Identification

I think it is a 'drinker' moth caterpillar, same as this one I posted earlier, and Andym captured a couple of days before.

They have that colouration and the horns at either end.

Thanks Nick I thought you night pick up on this one.
I've never seen a caterpillar this large before, I'd hate to meet the moth on a dark night.
