    I'm really liking this lens. The Panasonic 7-14 I've been using for a while would never have coped with this sort of backlight:

    Great shot Paul, I don't think many lenses could do a better job in those conditions.
    I am really liking the 8-18, it has become my go-to landscape lens and my 12-40 has hardly been on the camera since Christmas.

        Love this picture and an excellent lens for sure, as evidenced by the almost complete absence of uncontrolled flare and very little CA.

          Nice Paul. So you'd rather this 8-18 than the Olympus 7-14 Pro then?

            I've only ever played with the 7-14 in shops etc so my experience is fairly limited. However, the 8-18 seems just as good optically, is lighter/smaller and takes regular filters. The fact that it's f4 at the long end is not important to me since I usually use UWA lenses for landscapes. The fact it's 8mm at the wide end as opposed to 7mm is a bit of a loss, but I'm hoping I won't miss it once I get used to it.
