Re: "I Hate Privet!"
I have to agree that it is rather an ugly tree (if there is such a thing) but I'm sure your King Parrots see them as the most beautiful things since sliced bread.
+ It must be nice to fly around all over the place scoffing berries, fruit, nuts and so forth all for free - no checkout or MasterCard necessary, just take your fill of whatever you like. I wonder if they have flyBuy cards?

Re: "I Hate Privet!"
My only gripes against privet is that it is a prolific noxious weed here (a terrible bush invader) & all the weed seedling are not easy to pull up. We also have the native pittosporum which is prolific but much easier to pull up if not wanted. The neighbour has the two (privet & pittosporum) growing entwined as large trees. We've kept some pittosporum in a grove as shelter for ferns & other rainforest plants. I'm still working on the sprinkler system getting right for it.Originally posted by pandora View PostI have to agree that it is rather an ugly tree (if there is such a thing) but I'm sure your King Parrots see them as the most beautiful things since sliced bread.

Don't worry, the parrots leave their flybys calling cards (droppings).
We've kept native sticks insects before & their diet of gum leaves kept me busy with a pole trimmer keeping them fed.Originally posted by OM USer View PostI could do with some for the stick insects.
