Many thanks for the kind comments and 'likes'. It would have been nice to crop closer to the bird but, unfortunately, it is already a large crop. I also wanted to keep some of the surrounding vegetation in the shot to show how well hidden it was.

I do get them anting in the field behind my garden and on the grass verge outside the front of the house. I don't think they have braved my garden yet, they leave that to the pheasants! But they are still deeply suspicious and not at all grateful for the free food.
But they are such a lovely colour, your shot emphasises the green so nicely. Wonderful thing sunshine
With my new camera I am taking in flight shots of them at the reserve. So, I have a growing collection of disappearing tail feathers! But all in focus...

That's a good capture and better than the single shot I've managed. The green woodpeckers at work are just a blur of feathers whenever I see them!
