Not sure if I can post this here but in it's favour it is an Olympus lens.

This is the result of five frames manually removed and stacked from a 4K focus file. It is my new Panasonic G80. It is a cracking camera and uses all of my Olympus lenses even on the Panasonic features. I wonder how they managed that?

Uh . After the little flurry of tortoiseshells and peacocks a few weeks ago i'm not seeing much else, just orange-tips.

This is I first thought was a sprintail due o colour and size then on viewing it the viewfinder I thought barkfly now a plant bug nymph possibly

Lovely images, especially with the leaf in the second one.

Your "tiny nymph" cannot be a psocopteran as they have biting mouthparts. They are also much more of a figure of eight when seen from above. I think I can just make out the tips of cornicles, making it an aphid.

Male St Mark's Fly Bibio sp. on Window

A rare find in a garden, this rather scruffy individual was on a "frosted" double glazed window. Where it seems to have all its legs raised that is the double glazing showing. This is one of the insects of which I have yet to shoort a really good image.

The stereos are crosseye.

Olympus EM-1, Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f11 or f14, twin TTL flash, hand-held.

Alf,

I was unable to access the site at all this morning.

I find the only way to compare these images properly is to load them side by side in Photoshop. As there are different hosting websites other comparisons may mislead.

What you have done with my first image interests me most. (In passing, my backgrounds in the two images are an accurate grey, whereas you made it blue, as in my other images).

You have acheived some better definition on the hairs on the abdomen (dorsal and ventral. The dorsal hairs on the head remain problematic).

Although I have used layers and smart sharpening to get around excessive noise, I have never looked into it outside of that scenario. Some details of your method would be appreciated.

Regarding additional diffusion, it was a struggle to get a second light on the subject, due to the flat glass, and there was no chance of a third, as I normally use. I don't think diffusion is the issue here.
