Ah maybe a four spot chaser? There are spots on the wings on my OOF shots https://british-dragonflies.org.uk/s...potted-chaser/
-
Wrong shape for a hawker species (Hairy Dragonfly is the first hawker to emerge, and on the wing currently) so one of the chasers & although you can't quite see what (if any) wing markings this has on balance of probability its most likely a female Four-spotted Chaser.

Probable female Four-spot Chaser. Like the 20p piece as a background.

These two dragonflies were basking in the sun amongst the reeds at Carlton Marshes the other day. My guess is female Scarce Chasers. Any other thoughts?

Looks good for Scarce Chaser. Not seen them at Carlton marshes to date (not that I've particularly looked for them there!) but have found them quite common at Oulton Marshes a couple of years ago - which being very close by should be a good indicator. They can be quite local although I think they are generally on the increase in recent years. A species we're still missing at home but keep expecting to see one day.

I need to get my macro lens onto one of these but this will do for now as it is a crustacean I wasn't sure if this was the right spot

Eyasarcoris fabricii Woundwort Bug
These bugs are extremely difficult to photograph. As soon as they become aware of my presence, they move to the underside of the leaf. My single frames are not good enough to upload but the stereo works moderately well.
The stereo is crosseye.

Wrong Lens
I went out with the intention of trying to get some BIF shots so had my 300mm + MC14 on, but no birds to be seen.
Walking back I came across this chap on my gooseberry bush. Who says you can't do macro with a telephoto lens.
