Lovely textures and colours lots of scope here for further development of the abstract kind.

Fantastic colours! I guess there's a lot of iron in those rocks?

@Mike, John, Tom, Ed, OM, Brian, Keith - Thanks for commenting on Sandra's pictures. As you know, her ability to reply herself is limited by a serious brain episode from which she is presently in rehabilitation mode.

That said, she's enjoying the feedback and no doubt it's helping her to recover. I spoke with her this morning and she is chuffed by all the positive comments. Until such time as she can do so herself, on her behalf I thank you all.

                    Re: Great Walls of Fire

All well deserved comments, we are all getting a great travelogue. Is everything in the Oz outback rusty red! must say it looks beautiful whatever colour it is. I've just bought two travel guides to leave around at home to see if I can do some subliminal persuasion for a future trip .

                      Re: Great Walls of Fire

Phill, the entire centre of Australia is rich in Iron Oxides in rocks and sand, which is why it is red in colour. The intensity varies according to the time of day, it is most vivid at sunrise and sunset but still remains quite vibrant even at midday.

I hope your travel guide strategy works!

It's hard to get a sense of scale with the red rocks, until you see the trees in #3! I'm getting itchy feet again. Cheers Sandra!
