Ron, you can argue that a few clouds could have made things even better, but these shots are fantastic as they are, particularly No 2. Quite apart from getting a great photograph, what a magnificent experience this must have been.

Many thanks for your comments. Pink-footed Geese don't seem to fly in strict formations like some other geese, such as Greylags but I love seeing the 'strings' of them changing shape as they drift across the sky in the winter. The sound they make is unforgettable.

Nice but slightly annoying for me. I spent several autumns trying for shots like these when I lived in Saskatchewan and the huge flocks of Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese were heading south.
