    Re: Lochaber and Ardnamurchan

    Wonderful set throughout.

Number 9 I like for the story it tells. Number 8 has great light but number 1 .

Love it. I just want to sit down and post process that in B&W playing with that light and drama.

    Excellent and thanks for posting.

I've worked hard to be this grumpy. It hasn't been easy at times but it's worth it.

I've been doing exactly that, as part of my own learning process. I feel that I'm yet to do it justice.

It occurs to me that, with David's permission, No1 would make a great separate thread for people to try their B&W processing skills and post the results.

I'm very happy if anyone wants to do that. Unfortunately I'm going to be away from the computer for the next few days otherwise I would make the raw file available for those who want to play with it. I should be back at the start of next week though.

Great series David but number one is special. It makes me want to go out in the bad weather sometime but I just keep looking for favourable forecasts!

Now you've got me wondering what some of my Loch Arkaig shots would be like as a mono conversion.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Should anyone wish to use #1 for some B&W editing as suggested above by John (Zuiko), the RAW file can be downloaded from here:
