Thanks everyone. The rose was very tall and I had to get the steps out to get that shot. Even though there wasn't much breeze the little there was was a real pain. Lyn not a problem for me, say what you like as far as I'm concerned. I'm pleased you thought the image was worth commenting on. To be honest I hadn't noticed that leaf so I had to go out and have another look. It's not dead it's just where a leaf has curled up a bit to show the underside and the low sun plus me darkening the shadows in pp has made it look rather brown. Lesson learnt for next time look at the subject more carefully. Still it just shows it was a real bloom.

Absolutely Phill. On the show bench the first thing we learn after selecting our exhibit is to prepare it. So a dead or brown leaf gets the chop immediately. I am probably too fussy in relating this to photography where maybe that isn't always necessary. Your bloom colours are so nice that I wanted my eye to stay with it instead of wandering to that little leaf.

Phil if it bothers Lyn that much you can change the brown leaf to green in Photoshop.
