Hi there Peter / Anthony (I never know which to use)

I think the first image is amazing - how did you light it and get it into focus so quickly?! I like the second as well, the patterns that nature can give us are fascinating.

      Keep posting more great images,

      Cheers,

      Ralph.

Two very different but equally excellent photographs. I think that's the best match ignition image I've ever seen!

PS I'm moving this thread to Foto Fair as it doesn't demonstarte any particular qualities of the E-M1 and it deserves a wider audience.

I really like the match ignition & the ice one is also interesting. I assume this is with 'Grainy Film' art filter?

I set it up on by taping a peg to a flash stand, my camera was on a tripod. Using a macro lens I focused manually (using focus peaking & magnification). Using a wireless remote & shutter set for 10fps as I lit the match I pressed the button

Actually I only converted to mono, then added clarity to sharpen the edges. Other than that as was taken

                two different and enjoyable images.

I've tried and failed enough time to be impressed with your match result (am I allowed to say its "Striking" )

and I love the creativity of the second

I love the artistic look of the ice shot but that match shot is just brilliant. Exactly the sort of shot I like as it was done using no special gear just lots of inventiveness and probably perseverance. Well done Peter, that is definitely my proposal for shot of the year.

Two very different and cracking shots. 10/10 for nailing the ignition point on the match.
