Pink Floyd Fans will appreciate the title of this thread.
As posted earlier, on Saturday I went to the Stansted Christmas Fayre and got all steamed up. That was outside,; inside the large marquee was an indoor craft market and a stage on which various bands and artists performed throughout the day.
One who caught my eye was Emily Yarrow, a local professional singer who was certainly candy for the camera, not just because she is extremely attractive but also because she is very expressive, especially with her arms, hands and face. I wasn't originally planning to take pictures of the performers, due to a rather messy and uninspiring background to the stage. Just watching and listening to the performers was a pleasant enough way to pass some of the day as I was there with my wife, who had a face painting stall. When Emily started her set it was her voice that captivated me, it was wonderful and I was not expecting anyone quite that good at a local Christmas fayre! It was only after a few numbers that I noticed what an all-round polished performance she was giving (to a rather sparse audience) and I was inspired to capture some of her emotion and expression, trying to improve my skills at the same time.

Many of the pictures I took were at the long end of my 12-50mm, with it's rather restricting f6.3 maximum aperture. Silly me, I had a 40-150mm in my bag and could have gained at least a stop by using this around the short end. And the longer focal length of that lens would have avioded the need to crop to get some head and shoulder shots......
