  • Strange BIF

I have been following the recent BIF threads with interest.
Down on the beach this afternoon a guy was flying this radio-controlled flying wing using the lift coming off the foreshore banks.
Some panning practice for me! Having limited experience and a new E-M5 which I am not that used to yet, I was pretty chuffed to get this result. No doubt could be better, but this wing was pretty fast and I am impressed at how my dear old 70-300mm coped.

That looks pretty good Lyn. Sounds like you are going to blow some life into that old 70-300 with your new purchase. I look forward to seeing more as you get to grips with the E-M5

Thanks for looking Phill - It's a start!
Learning about the E-M5 is certainly stretching me, but that was the intention with the purchase, and I am enjoying the camera immensely. Hopefully the effort I am putting in will be rewarded with the odd good shot!

          Good result Lyn.

Once I got my E-M5 configured as I wanted and got a bit of practice in I found it opened up all sorts of new opportunities.

          Enjoy.

Thanks for looking Peter - I think configuring the little beastie is challenge in itself! Enjoyable though.
This "wing" was driving a poor little Butcher bird crazy as he saw it as a threat. I wasn't quick enough to get them both in the frame. He made many attempts to send it off - I am always in awe of how smaller birds will protect their territory against much bigger, and in this case, foreign, intruders.

Hi Chevvy - I actually thought of giving this post the title of "A Kite for Chevvy"! it was great panning practice and I was gob-smacked at the speed of the sequential shooting!
