      Hi Phil,

I recognise those oly colours, just beautiful.

I shoot both raw and jpeg with my e510 & e520. It's not often I need to use the raw images but there are times when I'm awfully glad I took the precaution of shooting in both formats!

Until a little while ago I shot raw+JPEG as whilst for many shots the Oly "out of camera" JPEG is fine there are some situations where you can get even better results from the extra data in the raw files. Recently I've "grasped the nettle" and started shooting raw only. The Olympus Viewer or Master software that should have come with your camera will, in my experience, at its default settings produce the same JPEG as the camera ( I suspect it's essentially the same as the camera firmware). The other well known brands (and free offerings) of post processing software will give greater scope for getting even more from your shots.

Thanks for sharing your first shots, a great start.

              Regards.
              Peter

she looked at me and said "It's official. I hate your camera. It's just so amazing and perfect I want one!"

Great start with the new camera and interesting to see the progression of deeper colours as the time changed between the first two shots!

thankyou all for the great feedback on these shots.I am absolutely delighted with the performance of the E520 and the two kit lenses.
I have been fascinated with cloud formations and sunrise/sunset images for years, and now i hope to be able to achieve some descet results.
