Out today trying out my E5 and Bigma (its a heavy beast!) managed to get first BIF not brilliant but I think I am getting there.

Very nice, I think, better than I've done. "BIF" for me usually means "Birds In Float." And even that can be difficult.

Many thanks; today it just seemed to 'click' now I need to work out how to stop the highlights burning out but still get the bird.

The egret feeding, splashing the drops of water, looks the best of the bunch in my eyes.

Really like Egret in flight 2 - so characteristic of a bird that has always defeated me.

All that relected light from mud has slightly tipped the WB, can't blame the camera, doubt if it has a profile for English mud.

Looks a great combination of camera and lens Ed Wouldny like to arm wrestle you in a few weeks time mind

Love the egret in flight 2 and the fishing shot with the water drops, very nice. Are you shooting in raw to allow corrections in WB?

I shoot jpeg and Raw. I have Lightroom & Elements 10 but am not very skilled in their use, but would welcome advice. Have quit the Gym now that I have this combination but worry one arm will outsize the other. Pleasantly surprised I can get shots hand held but am thinking of a hide and tripod as there are now 7 Egerets in the area.

I would have a look at the histogram that comes up when you open the raw file for the good coloured ones and make a note of the white balance and vibrance settings and then apply these to the shots with the colour cast

I have only ever seen an egret once at the mouth of the River Annan so I would be doing all I could to get a shot if I was you. Good luck Ed

Had a try with lightroom do not know if this is any better? Do not know what to do to cut down on the noise.
