  • Schoolboy error

Today I visited a hill climb event near my home. Picked my camera up on the way out of the door and off I went. Arrived in good time opened the boot to take out the camera bag and it was not there!! I had completely forgotten I had had a lens cleaning session onwednesday night.

So there I am at a Motorsport event with my 35mm macro lens! Undetered I persisted and I was quite surprised by the results.

Not brilliant but miles better than i was expecting

Remarkable shots from such a restricted combination. It just proves that it is the photographer and not the kit that counts. I reckon you could shoot motor sport with a Holga!

You did very well. Very nicely taken.

That chap in the 205 looks well chuffed! Good shots, the metallic orange pops well on the BMW against the background

Nice shots... it's all about making the most of what you have with you!

...but am I the only one who's slightly concerned that the chap in the Ferrari seems to have a small child on his lap!!

No you are not, and it's the first thing I noticed, IMO no matter the occasion there is simply no excuse that can justify that and the driver should know better too, STUPID-STUPID-STUPID

On a photographic note, it's a great effort with the macro lens, well done in making the most of your opportunity.

                  Regards Simon

Maybe go and shoot some cars moving at 1/40 & 1/60 and then you will realise just how fast, or slow, the Ferrari was going. They were not racing, it was a charity day. You get the technique right and you can make a car doing 5mph look like it's doing 50!! Have a go.
                    Thanks
