  • Anne at Cascais

Anne and I planned a few weeks ago an escape to Portugal for her birthday, as we haven't been away for a while. We left in gloomy spirits as the weather forecast was for 7 days of rain. We were fortunate to have a couple of bright days interspersed with showers, the sunniest of which by chance fell on her birthday.

Anne no doubt will show a few pix of the Lisbon area as and when she has sorted out the laundry, mail etc.

    Meanwhile -

Looks a lovely place. Looking forward to Anne's views and pics of the E-M5.

My Anne and my niece Cascais 1992 - my brother in jeans on the right and his then wife in red.

      Taken on an OM20.

Loved Portugal. My brother was working at the Oz embassy and he showed us all around Portugal. Had a great time.

This time last year I took the family to Venice for a long weekend. The forecast was rubbish - but it turned out to be mostly lovely. It's nice to be pleasantly surprised when the forecast is wrong - usually it's the other way around!

Thanks Stephen - I took many tracks out on the sand due to a recent storm as a bulldozer was used to place the sand back.

Ann1e is working on her OM-D pix as I type.

            Hi Barkly -

Thanks for the pic - the ground tile patterns are seen in so many places.

            We enjoyed Lisbon very much.

Hope you had a good trip, Barrie, and I'm glad to see you had at least some nice weather.

Looks like you might have a lovely time after all as the weather is smiling on you there. My camera (an E30) has been to Portugal before I got it (from a dental uni student in Sydney), but not me.

Nice shots Barrie. If I had the spare funds available I would retire to Portugal in a flsh. Lovely friendly people and some fantastic vistas to boot.

Zuiko (John), Ross and Benedict, thanks for commenting. The weather was mixed but there was so much to fit in the rain wasn't noticed that much. Fortunately, the gear we were using shrugged the worse drops away.
