No1 is my favourite. Great pose and well isolated from the background, but the OOF shadow of the tree is enough to provide a sense of the environment. Everything about is is just right, a truly outstanding shot.John

My favourite is #3 because its action is so offbeat as indeed was its behaviour.
It struck some curious poses in trying to dry its plumage.
I have no idea as to what bird it is ... surely not a cormorant this far from sea.
