How about these for a successful blend of old and new Olympus technologies?

The camera was an E5 and the lens was an old manual OM 50mm lens at f1.8. Cropping into the eyelashes I was very impressed at the detail.

Anybody else having similar results with their E5 and legacy lenses?

Simply stunning Chris, I don't have any legacy glass at the moment but I might try a OM 50 out for fun... having just seen this shot.

The E-5 still amazes me with it's ability to eek out amazing levels of detail from just 12 megapixels.

Wow, that's certainly brought the best out of the lens!

Hmm don't do this to me.

I have a couple of OM lenses and have alway gone away from an OM adaptor, the main reason is because I carry to much for my old back anyway.

        Might have to invest

        Great resolution.

That's amazing detail from that OM lens. I believe that OM50 lenses made after a certain date with a particular range of serial numbers gave better results than some of the earlier ones. Would yours be one of those? The serial number on mine is 467948 & I think the better ones come after that (although mine is still good). I also use the Dandelion AF confirm chipped adapter, do you?

            Hello Ross
The serial number of my lens is 1114970, and I am was using a basic EBay adapter without the focus confirm chip.

I do not know how old the lens is, but it certainly seems to work

              Re: Olympus synchronicity

I have an OM 50mm f1.4 that still gets used occasionally. However the 24mm f/2.8 is considered by many to be the one to use, and I tend to agree.

It feels and works very well on the E-PL1 as well

Yours appear to be a later lens & might be one of the sharper ones. Does anybody know anything about the best OM50mm lenses to get? I posted a photo in this thread (http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthre...t=12385&page=2) & used the OM50mm f1.8, just for the heck of it on my E30. An E5 would be nice but that is a lower priority for now.
