  • I think I once said I wouldn't use an art filter...

...and that I couldn't see much benefit in OOC output, except when it's going straight to the picture editor!

so in a bored moment I thought I would actually see what they were

    and I was pleasantly surprised

    What filter was used?

    Nice shot BTW.

I think the filters have their place and here is the proof, not sure which one you used but it's a lovely shot

thank you both for the kind words

it was art filter 6 - pin hole - on the E-P1, and other than adjusting the exposure to get the look I wanted what you see is what I got; so to speak.

I also tried the pop art filter on the same shot -and the result would probably have made a great canvas print, but subtle it isn't!

          Nice shot.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of the dramatic tone art filter on the E5. I've tried to hack a e3 ORF with the E5 exif data but it crashes viewer when I select the dramatic tone art filter (all the others work fine, annoyingly)

That sounds dangerous. You know what Judas did with the 30 pieces of silver in the end, but in your case it sounds more like "and they lived happily ever after".

As I normally save JPEG & RAW on my E30, I like to play with some photos applying the filter afterwards & some can really benefit from them, but the E5 collection of filters sounds very tempting with the dramatic tone included.

It's a great shot photo owl & looks great with the pin hole filter. The pop art filter would probably work well as a wall hanging in a large office foyer.

Lovely shot and the filter does add a lot.
