  • Wish me luck...

The next 4 days I will be ensconced in the Summit Nature Photo Workshop here in Jackson, WY. It's a beautiful setting for this, and I'm a little intimidated! Faculty are known names- Nat Geo and ILCP peeps. There will be opportunities to for shooting with the pros in the field, some lectures, portfolio reviews and image critiques. I'm feeling a bit of imposter syndrome setting in!! . Just hoping to learn something new and to improve a bit.

If nothing else, it is BEAUTIFUL here.

Good luck, though I reckon you will give the Pro's a run for their money....

I recently had to lend a Pro a bit of kit (flash gun) to allow him to do a good job...

Sounds familiar... I remember second shooting a wedding and having to do all the flash photography because the main tog didn't know how to use a strobe. Seriously, he was a full timer I was a weekend warrior who shot for family and friends and after that on recommendations. He was also shooting a wedding in a new location and hadn't scouted out suitable spots because you can only stay out the back of a registry office for so long. Luckily I knew the town as it's just under an hour from me and was able to give recommendations.

Definitely looking forward to seeing the images you get. It's the others who should be worried, you'll smash it.

Sounds brilliant. Forget the impostor thing - you are there to learn, but you also have plenty of skills to build on and share. So just relax, enjoy it, share what you have, and hoover up everything you can!

We found that to be a wonderful place when we visited last year. Up in the mountains (via the gondola) we had some excellent views and I was very happy I'd bought the OM5 it being nice and light weight at that altitude

Go for it and have fun.
I once guided a very nice Californian lawyer and his wife round the hills of Scotland. They told me they had a small property in Jackson Hole, 6000 acres!
