I'm not sure that I feel comfortable with that post, Rebecca!

Sadly I think Rebecca is right, appalling behaviour from an organisation supposedly there to give aid. What’s needed is a church based aid organisation, like the Catholic Church perhaps....... oh...wait...

An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman walk into a bar.
The Englishman wanted to go so they all had to leave

Just before the millennium, my employer moved their HQ from Surrey to Basle, in Switzerland. They weren't missed at all and we carried on as before.

So everything's going to be just fine and we won't notice anything? Thanks for your reassurance, Harold!

Unfortunate for all the support staff, suppliers, and small business that loose their livelihood, when companies move...

                        Are we worried yet?

Probably only a small proportion of that business goes to an HQ. Actual manufacturing moving is at the other end of the scale.

A downsizing of a business in situ would affect suppliers but I don't recall any outcry for that.

                            Really Jim ? Why's that ?

The Oxfam scandal which also including other Aid Organisation workers was widely documented by the press and media at the time. The Government of Haiti has banned Oxfam UK, and the head of Oxfam has appologised to the Government and people of Haiti. Further investigations reported that Aid Organisations simply moved suspected or accused workers around as opposed to taking any other action.

My post, whilst slightly sarcastic or "tongue in cheek" simply reflected the above.

Call me old fashioned but if you’re going to, shall we say, partake of the local amenities and friendly welcome, would you really do it in a ravaged, poverty stricken disaster zone? Really?

Maybe I read it wrong, but it came across as rather flippant.
