  • Insurance recommendations?

Up to now the household insurance has covered my camera gear, I'm just about to go through the value threshold, so what are the recommendations for insurance?

Increase the household or go specialist?

Or the third option would be to investigate an alternative household insurer.
Mine didn't add much to cover 300mm F2.8 + 90-250mm zoom as specified items in addition to the all risk cover on other valuables.

I currently use the service provided by Natwest, they cover everything worldwide.
Previously I had used Hiscox to cover House and Contents worldwide.

Fortunately not had to make a claim, so it is all promises promises at the moment.

I find that named items of value on the house insurance gives good cover, but please read the small print, some insurances only cover use at home.

I use Glover & Howe Semi-pro. Unless it has changed, they even cover gear left in a locked car, so long as you are away on a trip.
