Happy Birthday Wally, have a great day.

Have a very happy birthday, give your camera a run out now that you are a mature photographer.

Thanks Guy's for reminding me I'm another year older.

Can't do much and can't go far so my time is spent RTFM for my hopefully, soon to get, new toy.

Happy birthday Wally. I am old enough not to worry about getting older, but to worry about not getting older...............!!

                    Re: Happy Birthday Wally

Hi Guy's and thank for all the posts reminding me I'm another year older.

I must have been enjoying myself more than I realised as this last year has been and gone just like, 'poof!'... either that or I've had one 'eck of a senior moment?

The new toy is still work in progress but, will 'eventually' be the Oly Stylus 1.

No new S/W to learn and, as I already have the XZ-1 with the CLA-12, it made sense. I also have a spare e-10 camera case into which either camera fits with room to spare. I use the adapter for dust-proofing as the flip-flop lens cap is crap. There is always the future offering of the TCON 17 which could be used on both.

Given all of the above, at the end of the day, It seemed the best of the options open to me.

Interesting I had a play with a stylus 1 on the Oly sand yesterday. It's a nice feeling camera. I was looking for something smaller for my daughter though but retaining the long zoom. Interesting I asked about the XZ2 and was told it was discontinued? Odd without a replacement?

The Stylus SH-1 or, the Stylus SH-60 which is much cheaper might be useful to look at.

Small with a good zoom, upto 600mm, a much further reach then the Stylus 1.

I'm really pleased I got mine (Stylus 1) when I did (Christmas 2013). I was scared off getting the E-M1 in Oct 2013 while there were fires threatening (& had taken 100's of houses) when the supplier emailed me to say mine had come in. I knocked it back then but as the fires were controlled & put out, nearer to Christmas I discovered the Stylus 1 & thought it would fill a great hole in my photography use & it does. Of course, I ended up buying the E-M1 six months later as well. The later firmware 2.0 update for the Stylus 1 has made it even better too.
