But back (again) to the original post, and the intended way the customer was to understand the description. It says that the pork is "outdoor bred" meaning that the pigs have had a wonderful carefree outdoor life, no? Positively bucolic, eh?

I suspect not. I suspect that the only outdoor aspect of the pigs' life was the breeding, perhaps even only the literal part of it. (Isn't that dogging not pigging?).

Is there a legal definition of "Outdoor bred"?

I know the description you (Piers) have given is the one we, the public, are meant to take, but it is much more fun imagining lots of sossies running loose around the UK countryside.

I liked the 'sausage dog' pictures earlier also. Complete with 'buns'. Real hot dogs there !
