  • What's bugging you?

WHO ARE THE IDIOTS THAT DESIGN THESE THINGS!
IMG 1.Spaghetti cooking time and directions mindlessly tiny. ..........IMG 2. Illogical layout of function buttons on Radio CD Player

The first thing you need to know about the spaghetti you bought is its cooking time - you're starving and in no mood to hunt for it!
The function buttons on the radio CD player are easier to see in the photo than they are by a bedside lamp, specs or no specs!

    (XZ-2 SUPER MACRO IMAGES)

Vacuum Cleaner Instruction Manual - Font size could have been doubled for easy reading and a better page layout.

Feel free to add your own gripes!

Great Idea for a thread, Mark! I agree about the font size on many instructions - ridiculously tiny (or am I just getting old?)

There must be many other things, I'll put my thinking cap on!

John - things that bug us crop up all the time. I meant to make a note of them as many just evaporate like dreams.

Yeah we are getting old too and graphic designers should be aware that we are a very big demographic.

Couldn't find an example at this hour of night, Derek,
but would require a contrasting colour, unlike McVitie's ingredients list.

Cars having indicators and dip switches / wipers screen wash on differing sides, as I hate flashing the wipers at people. This even happens on different models from the same manufacturer. My last car dip/lights on right newer car dip/lights on left. Why not standardised throughout the industry?

Well, just for a starter, many of the items that we complain about first of all were not written by English speaking people and secondly were designed and made or printed in China....so what should we expect!!

Now Bill, need I remind you that I am half Chinese and therefore I can say that at least half of us are inscrutably clever people. Clear evidence of that is the news this morning that a Chinese satellite his located a large floating object in the Indian Ocean west of Australia. Chinese warships are on their way to identify it. If however an Australian ship gets there first then remember that I'm an Aussie through and through. I should also mention that I'm half Irish too, which means that we're about to get lucky to be sure, to be sure!

Been trying to think of things that bug me .
                    They all involve.........people.

Perhaps I am just a Grumpy Old Woman this morning.

Fishermen who leave their discarded fishing line lying around the local pools. It is lazy, dangerous and disrespectful. The results are often fatal for the poor wildlife that often encounters it.
Last year I found 3 trapped/injured birds. This year already have found one too....

Morons (selfish, pig-headed, ignorant, pathetic drivers) who think they can take up two car spaces in our town's main street.

As a dog owner... the amount of sticky brown stuff on walkways etc., even one left under a poster explaining that a 3 year old suffered blindness after falling into and rubbing it off then wiping her eyes when crying, = mindles morons. More so, especially when pooh bags are freely distributed in special bins throughout the area or can be had free from shops and the lirary where I live.

                            Plus most of the above.

As for the Chinese, most of those whom I call friends speak better English than I an speak Chinese, whether Mandarin or Cantonese?
It's not what inspires us that is important, it's where the journey takes us.
