£225 both together is a bargain : if you want the sharpest RAW sensor of that generation, plus a decent but RARE lens.

Can't say I'm impressed with the sample of the 'Leica' 2.8 on the L1 at work.

Different lens David, although that F2.8 had good reputation until (if I recall rightly) some started having zoom ring problems? something anyway.
If they'd brought out the L10 with the earlier lens ... but anyway all of them were really really expensive new.

I know it's a different lens but I thought the 2.8 was supposed to be better. To be fair, the L1 is used by anyone who signs it out and gets used in some pretty nasty conditions. And I've never bothered checking how clean the lens is.
