  • For sale ZD50 f2 macro inc caps, hood, bag + box

This is going to hurt, but I have decided to sell my ZD 50mm f2.0 macro lens in order to fund this E-M5 kit ..

This lens is one of the sharpest optics you can get. Even Dpreview agree about that
I've tried many 50mm lenses over the years and they all had some small compromise. They can be slightly soft wide open, or coma round highlights. Well, I don't detect any optical compromises with this lens, it's the bee's knees as they say. Not only is it a pretty good macro lens, it's also an excellent short tele and portrait lens.

It is weather sealed and very well made and comes with both caps and the LH55 hood. I will also include an LCS0816 soft bag.

It is in very clean condition and has served me well.
It sure produces great pictures. It is one of the few lenses I've used that I am happy to use wide open at f2.0. Here's a shot to prove it:

Look, I'm an old man. I shouldn't be expected to put up with this.

Bump, and here's a short blog I did on this lens with an example shot using it as a telephoto lens

One of the benefits of the Olympus camera range is the splendid Zuiko lenses. In this case I think their lenses are better than their DSLR...

A shame to see that lens go Pete, will you plan on getting the new m4/3 60mm?

                  Snapped up, paid and posted

No, I am starting with the 45mm f1.8. It's not pro grade but seems to perform well. The m4/3 60 macro looks quite tasty, but expensive I suspect.

Pete, don't forget that if you are going for the 12-50mm, it has a semi macro capability fixed @ 43mm.
It may (won't) be as sharp as the 50mm F2, but it might do you in the short term.
                    Best Regards
                    Bill

No, I'm going to pass on the 12-50 and get the 45mm instead...
