  • Please bring back Robin Wong........Peter F...

Peter Forsgård aint a patch on Robin.

I'm not quite sure if he's a ditherer or a fluffer, amateurish he sure is....not a patch on Robin.

Go on blame the language problem, I knew someone would

I quite enjoyed Peter's April Fools video:

It was never going to fool anybody but it made me chuckle in places.

I think the dropping of Robin represents a visible sign of OMDS wanting to focus (no pun intended) on the action/wildlife market rather than general photography, which is what RW represents. I personally think this is all wrong. I seldom take photos of things that move, but I use Oly gear anyhow because I like the size, weight, features, lenses, IBIS etc. If they ignore people like me I think it's a terrible shame, esp since the cameras have a lot of features that are made for me - LiveND, Livetime/comp, Hi-res modes, starry sky AF, focus stacking, ... I hope I'm wrong, but it does seem that way.

You could be right. I suspect another factor is that they have to make a profit and decided to cut expenses in areas they think don't deliver sufficient return. As in many companies, the accountants may be the tail wagging the dog/throwing the baby out with the bathwater or whatever other metaphor is appropriate.

My sentiments exactly. I have been consistently disappointed by how Olympus and now OMDS have been developing larger, heavier and more expensive products,
I fully appreciate there are lots of sports and wildlife photographers who will be loving these things.
But none of it makes me move to my wallet.
Robin's Shutter therapy sessions are amazing - I don't get why Olympus sidelined him the way they did.

Either way, I prefer to watch any of their videos at 1.5 times speed.
