  • Mirrorless ?

I feel I have gone back in time.......I have tried google and now on here but cant find out which Oly cams are mirrorless. The Oly site is the same.....I was also sure there was a longer lens than 400mm to go with a mirrorless.

Hi Keith, it’s been awhile, hasn’t it?
All Olympus cameras are mirrorless now with the E-5 being the last DSLR.
The only lens that went to 500mm for DSLRs was the Sigma 50-500. Now we have the 100-400mm Olympus lens & the very expensive 150-400 Pro lens (with a built in 1.25 x TC), all for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless models.
    Hope that helps.

BTW, the Olympus 100-400mm lens is based on a Sigma DSLR optical design & likely made by Sigma for Olympus too.

Hi Ross ...thanks.....ha ha I was having an " old age thing ". Of course all the little models are mirrorless. I was trying to find out which one all the wildlife photers were using and when I went on the Oly site you get all the ridiculous names like Olympus OM-D E-M1 mk 1,2 or 3 which mean nothing to me ( I am stuck in the time warp when they were called E5 etc).

I woke up in the middle of the night & couldn't go back to sleep (worrying about logistics of family Christmas ) & saw this thread you had just posted. I was a little surprised but gave an answer I hoped would help anyhow.
Myself, I started in MFT (mirrorless) models with the E-M5, then E-M1 & followed by the E-M1 II. That's where I'm staying for now as I couldn't justify another body update to my better half, but I have included more lenses since then though, with the 100-400mm lens (the 'peoples' lens) which was expensive enough as there was no way I could spend so much money on the 150-400 Pro lens though.
I'm interested to know what those 'dark side' items you have are though.

Anything that begins EM, or EP is mirrorless.

Well, that is rather nice! Do you have an MC14 or MC20 to use with it?
